Biography:
Mado Jolain (1921–2019) was a French ceramist known for her work in modern post-war decorative ceramics. Trained at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris, she developed from the 1950s onward a personal style characterized by simple, elegant forms, often combined with graphic or abstract decorative motifs.
She participated in the renewal of French ceramic art during the Trente Glorieuses, mainly producing functional and decorative pieces appreciated for their modern design and refined craftsmanship. Her work is part of the mid-20th-century French ceramic design movement.
