Marcel Guillot (1910–1985) was a French ceramic artist and one of the leading figures of post-war French ceramics. Trained at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris, he worked at the Manufacture de Sèvres before establishing his own workshop. Throughout his career, he combined technical mastery with a modern approach to form and decoration, producing both utilitarian ceramics and sculptural works distinguished by their refined glazes and strong decorative character.
In 1949, alongside Pol Chambost, he organized the first Salon des Céramistes d’Art de France, which later evolved into the Salon des Ateliers d’Art de France.
A major promoter of contemporary ceramics, he served as president of the Chambre Syndicale des Céramistes and played an important role in the development of French decorative arts during the second half of the twentieth century. Today, his works are appreciated for their elegant forms, subtle glazes, and contribution to the renewal of French ceramic art.
