Jacques and Dani Ruelland are among the leading figures of French ceramics in the second half of the twentieth century. Beginning in the 1950s, they developed a collaborative body of work defined by purity of form, balanced proportions, and richly nuanced glazes.
Their vases, bowls, lamps, and decorative objects are distinguished by sculptural silhouettes and deep glazes, often in shades of blue, brown, and black. Through a style that is both understated, modern, and timeless, they played an important role in the revival of French decorative arts after the Second World War.
Today, their creations are highly sought after for the elegance of their forms, the quality of their glazes, and their significant place in the history of twentieth-century French ceramics.
