Roger Capron (1922-2006) was one of the leading figures of twentieth-century French ceramics. Settling in Vallauris after the Second World War, he played a key role in the revival of French ceramic art, developing a distinctive style that combined creativity, functionality, and modern design.
Renowned for his ceramics, furniture, and architectural panels, Capron drew inspiration from nature, architecture, and the Mediterranean lifestyle. His work is distinguished by its rich decoration, exceptional craftsmanship, and strong connection to the aesthetics of the 1950s through the 1970s.
Today, Roger Capron’s creations are highly sought after by collectors and are regarded as important examples of post-war French design and decorative arts.
