Biography:
Jacques Ruelland (1929–2008) and Dani Ruelland (1932–2015) were a French ceramic artist couple renowned for their contribution to the revival of modern post-war ceramics. They worked primarily between the 1950s and 1970s and were part of the French modern decorative arts movement.
Jacques Ruelland specialized in modern forms and sculptural volumes, while Dani Ruelland focused on decorative design and glaze experimentation. Their production is closely associated with Vallauris, one of the major centers of ceramic art in France after World War II.
Their works are characterized by organic shapes, clean geometries, and sophisticated glazes, combining functional design with artistic exploration, including a significant production of vases, bowls, and decorative objects.
